Major part of the Company’s research projects will be directed at development of Uniform Transport Network for Government Agiences (UTNGA), network operation, safety and reliability. They will involve both network (monitoring, safety and output) and its applications.

Our company is planning to carry out the following projects: 

Network monitoring

Development of the program application (or adaptation of available applications) to control the status of Uniform Transport Network for Government Agencies, workload at the different network sites, presence of collateral and parasitic traffic, virus activity, hacker frauds.

Upon completion of basic stage of construction of UTNGA (satellite segment) and pilot phase, the Company plans to install software to carry out network monitoring and management. That will require the Company to design drivers to adapt the satellite equipment to the monitoring system. For compatibility reasons and to conserve financial resources and manpower, available means and protocols (SNMP) intended for these purposes will be primarily utilized. Besides standard parameters (condition of a link, utilization of ports, etc.) the network is going to deliver additional equipment data (temperature, position of aerials, opening of the case, etc.).

Testing of equipment and protocols

• Testing of various network and satellite equipment to ensure their compatibility within UTNGA. Technical support service.
• Series of tests are planned, starting 2007 to ensure compatibility of various manufacturers and to give the certification of equipment aptitude and recommendations on installation and use;
• Testing of various frequently used protocols of routers, data transmission, voice and video, codecs, etc. Preparation of recommendations to user node on effective utilization of these protocols in UTNGA. Analysis and testing of protocols will allow correctly determine traffic priorities, pass bands and provide qualitative service.
• Studying and testing of new developments and protocols in the field of satellite and ground systems of data transmission. In the case of determination of the best performance, parameters of safety, quality, service, etc. they will be introduced in UTNGA. The Company conducts this activity during period of operation of UTNGA.
